COVID-19 Update - December 27, 2020
Dear Good Friends:
RE: Provincial Lockdown
As of December 26th, 2020, the province of Ontario will be put into a 28-day lockdown. In keeping with our Provincial Government and local Health Unit recommendations Good Friends Fellowship will suspend all in-person worship services. Starting Sunday
December 27th, 2020 all in-person worship services will continue to be streamed live through our website, Facebook, or YouTube.
Please note the new service times:
Kids Church will now stream live at 10:00am and our Regular Service continue to stream live at 11:00am
Good Friends Fellowship has been open for in-person services since August, welcoming in many families within the community. We look forward to worshiping together under one roof again, soon. In the meantime, church continues. As the body of Christ, we must continue to pray for one another, encourage each other, and spread the Good News of Jesus.
We have a copy of our digital directory available at your request. We encourage you to reach out to your brothers and sisters in Christ during this time. As more information becomes available, we will be sure to share it with you. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us.
Your Friends at Good Friends Church
COVID-19 Update - September 18, 2020
Dear Good Friends:
RE: Updated By-Law Requiring Mandatory Use of Masks at Church
The Leadership of Good Friends Fellowship wants to thank you for your cooperation and kindness as we have returned to church over the past couple of months. It has been so great to be able to meet together in person again.
This past week, the Wellington Dufferin Guelph Health Unit issued an update to the Section 22 Order on mandatory face coverings. Dr. Mercer (Public Health Officer for Welling Dufferin Guelph) said "I am concerned by the increasing numbers in our region. We are seeing COVID-19 cases continue to rise at the same time as schools and campuses reopen. I am including additional establishments within the Section 22 Order to give us the best chance of reducing the spread of the virus. Keeping COVID-19 low in the community is vital to protecting all of us and keeping our schools, businesses and other spaces open this fall. We must continue to do everything we can to reduce the spread of the virus - even as we acknowledge the pandemic fatigue we are all feeling."
Churches and other faith settings have been included in the new order.
And so, we are asking that each of you who comes to our meetings in person wear a mask, sanitize your hands on the way in and out and, in compliance with this order, refrain fron singing during the meeting.
Your co-operation and kindness are so greatly appreciated by all of us and we would like to encourage you as we ourselves have been encouraged by the Word of God:
1 Peter 2:13-19 " Therefore sumbit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men - as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. Honour all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh. For this is commendable, if becuase of consience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfuly.
